Mono sonar (2007)

Mono sonar was a sound installation I did during the East Austin Studio Tour in 2006.

The piece consisted of field recordings of a Mexican freetailed bat colony I made, played back through an unique sound system made of industrial lighting reflectors.

The high frequency sounds, combined with the very directional acoustics of the speakers, made the sound seem to occur every so often, when you least expected it.
